East Berlin Door 01

Cammino su Falckensteinstraße, tra manifesti strappati e tag che si moltiplicano come voci di chi passa. Questa porta, al numero 33, è più di un confine: è una parete di segni, un mormorio di vite che non si lasciano chiudere. Non so chi l’ha attraversata ieri, né chi la varcherà domani. So solo che da straniero raccolgo un frammento di soglia, e lo porto via con rispetto.

I walk along Falckensteinstraße, between torn posters and tags multiplying like voices of passers-by. This door, number 33, is more than a boundary: it’s a wall of marks, a murmur of lives that refuse to stay locked in. I don’t know who crossed it yesterday or who will cross it tomorrow. I only know that, as an outsider, I hold a fragment of its threshold and carry it away with respect.
